Advent 2

December 08, 2019 by Anne Atkins

Second Sunday in Advent

Being a good Anglican, me, I decided to give up booze for Advent.

Then Alex sent us all Advent calendars. Mine has a different gin for each day of the fast season, up till and including Christmas Eve.

Uncanny how Alex understands.

Bee is particularly incapacitated at the moment. Her bedroom smells like a friend of ours who used to attend our church in Parson’s Green. When he wasn’t a guest of Her Majesty. Or nicking stuff from our vicarage.

Actually, he probably smelt like that when he was, too. You’d have thought we’d have worked out sooner where all our things were disappearing, by the lingering aroma.

Bee now shuffles around in blankets, because all her clothes are tied up in black bin bags.

Survive that without gin: I challenge you.
